Garfields Roosevelt School receives Congressman visit

Congressman Steven Rothman visited Garfield’s Roosevelt School 7 to read a Dr. Seuss book to about 50 fourth-graders yesterday (Feb. 28) morning.

The congressman came as an early kickoff for Read Across America Day, which will take place on March 2, because he was already scheduled to be in Washington, D.C. that day.

Rothman wore the iconic red and white Dr. Seuss hat while he read “The Lorax” and his staff held up a giant version of the book for the children to follow along with. After the reading, the congressman talked to the children.
